Teaching Empathy Institute works to establish emotionally and physically safe learning communities for elementary, middle and high school students and the adults who work with them. Working in the Hudson Valley of New York, TEI creates tailor-made programs designed to foster dialogue about social culture building while strengthening the capacity for the infusion of empathy and compassion into all aspects of the learning experience.

The School of Belonging for Leaders (SBL)

The School of Belonging for Leaders (SBL) provides school leaders with the knowledge, skills, processes and facilitation materials to train school staff toward embracing and integrating innovative and transformational social and emotional learning practices. Utilizing the research and literature on resilience, emotional intelligence, pro-social skills development, and meeting the emotional needs of staff and students, SBL focuses on helping district and school leaders more effectively manage their emotions during stressful times, improve their inter-personal skills, and facilitate dynamic training experiences for school staff, as they build healthier, emotionally safe schools where belonging and inclusiveness are paramount.
